Funky4Corners presents RITG Routines.

The Battle

Funky4Corners presents RITG Routines. Walking into the Filcom Center was a lot like walking into a school cafeteria or auditorium. The lighting was bad and the layout worse. Honestly, the first half hour I was thinking this was going to be a flop. But as the room started filling up with hundreds of kids and random crews started stretching and getting hyped up I got a permanent ear to ear grin. The ages of the participants ranged from 7 to 30 years old. All of them pumped full of enthusiasm and creativity. Classic old school moves teamed up with individual ability and new moves and style. So with that all said we picked out the favorites of the night based on originality, creativity, compatibility, charisma and talent.

KUGA

Crew Name: KUGA
-Lila Metzger
-Sara Ahn
-Cheryl Guerpo

KUGA was the only female crew at the RITG event. I am not just hyping them up because they are women. These ladies have extraordinary talent and attitude. It's not a question of keeping up with the guys. These ladies have what it takes to crush with extreme ability the majority of male crews on the Islands and the mainland as well. We can't wait to see more from KUGA in the near future.

Red Eye Jedi

Crew Name: Red Eye Jedi
-Kazuya Saito
-James Yapching
-John Young
-Madison Kawakawi
-Jason Guerpo
-John Guerpo

Where do I start? They were the highlight of the night. Amazing to think they have only been working together for a year. The synchronicity they posess as a crew you would think they all shared the same womb. The routines were the best I've seen in years. Individual moves so crisp and straight and everything you could hope they would be.Red Eye Jedi is by far the best Oahu crew. They are constantly leaving you wanting more! Can I have some more please?
